My client is a rapidly growing organisation based in Oxford.
A leader in their space developing high quality scientific systems and products sold across private and public sectors. To date, our clients offering has contributed to advances in diverse as pharmaceuticals, telco and energy sectors.
We are looking for a Head of Sales & Marketing to lead the customer relationship and channel partner strategy. With sales cycles often funding linked can take many years, building trusted relationships with target audiences is vital for this role. There is a high degree of autonomy in this broad role, which would suit an individual with a science related background who has developed into a more commercial General Management, Sales or Marketing background.
The type of person who will enjoy this role is a multi-tasker who thrives on a different challenge every day, from leading meeting with global distributors in Europe, Asia or the USA to creating new product brochures
To develop expert knowledge of the product range, to enable meaningful discussions with prospective customers and distributors.
To gather prospects for new and additional system sales via targeting individual customer sites, identifying leads at exhibitions and trade-shows and following up existing leads.
Visiting customer sites worldwide, attending industry conferences and exhibitions, networking with customers to understand potential new opportunities.
Working with consultants and graphic designers to create and update marketing material including brochures, adverts and exhibition stands.
You will be a confident sales and/or marketing professional, with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a scientific or technical sector. Our customers are respected senior researchers within industry and academia so you must be comfortable in building these relationships.
You will hold a Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree in a scientific subject, preferably Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Material Sciences.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly, effectively, and efficiently, and form positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and agents.
