Rocking Zebra are working with an amazing client based in Swindon that are looking to recruit a Head of Events.
This is a brand-new role to the business and one that will offer an exciting challenge and to work within a pace driven environment which will see you involved in strategy, client growth and team development.
Responsibilities include:
Team management
- You should demonstrate strong & clear leadership towards your team and the wider business. Your management style should always be objective and in the best interest of the business.
- Your team will each have a target to deliver £x of business quarterly, you should support them in achieving their targets and help them to grow their clients.
- Helping to allocate work across the team
- Weekly 1-2-1 meetings with each of your team to discuss activities, who’s doing
- Conducting performance appraisals with each team member twice / year.
- Attending occasional events, monitoring your teams’ ability to deliver shows and support their clients.
- Review client and internal feedback in monthly feedback meetings and take any corrective action.
- Signing off budgets, reviewing margins, any discounts and external spend.
- Supporting your team with commercial decisions, pricing, advice and encouragement.
- Your team will be given a quarterly target based on retaining and growing our existing clients by an average of 10% year on year.
- Support your team in looking for new opportunities and help them to achieve this growth and develop a strong & collaborative relationship with the Sales & Marketing team
- Attending regular client meetings with your team to help strengthen the relationship and review the account.
- Write and prepare pitch presentations and ‘lead’ the pitch process to re-sign a client.
- Working with your team to ensure the relationship with existing clients is as strong as possible through post-event feedback, account reviews and regular communications.
- Having quarterly review meeting (or call) with each of your clients to monitor their level of satisfaction and take any corrective action arising from this
- Attend monthly management meetings, discuss the strategic goals of the business and play a proactive role in making this happen.
- Create a strategy to develop and retain existing clients and attend a monthly Account Plan meeting to discuss these plans
- Designing & implementing an induction plan for new employees during their 3-6 months’ probation period.
- Supporting your team in researching their clients and having a very strong understanding of your clients’ businesses including brands, strategy & vision, culture, comms plans, competitors etc.
- Ensuring your team are using Social Media to build their networks and increase their understanding of their client (LinkedIn with clients & prospects post meeting, following on Twitter/Instagram).
Skills & Experiencs Required
- You should have extensive experience within the events industry and proven track record in delivering & producing events with budgets exceeding £250k.
- You should have proven ability in managing and supporting a team
- You should have a proven track record in developing client relationships and pitching
- KPI’s
- Hit your quarterly retention & growth target – must achieve the budget target.
- Ensure client feedback scores exceeds 9.0 on a quarterly basic across your team
- Ensure all points on your team’s PDP’s are executed
- Conduct quarterly client reviews
- Visit your clients’ office (at least) every 8 weeks with new offerings
